My New Dog - Brownies

My wife and her friend was driving around PJ and stumbled upon this little doggie wandering on the streets of PJ. Being a dog lover she just couldn't resists the temptation in saving this little doggie as he was nearly run down by heartless and brainless Malaysian drivers.

As I was not in the country and only returning late evening,  my wife had to send the doggie to the vet to do some checks especially getting rid of fleas and ticks. She spent RM80 to clear those pests but to my dismay it was a badly done job. Much of the pests were still sticking to it's body and lot's of them were still living in it's ear. Darn those people ........

We were lucky to have a close friend lending us a helping hand by taking care of the dog for one night as it was impossible for me to leave brownies at my house as I already have 2 dogs with me and do not want the infestation of the fleas towards Thunder and Hannah.

The very next day we quickly brought Brownies to a friend's pet shop located in Uptown Damansara Utama. Our friend , Choong and especially Eric ensured us that they will do a 100% cleaning up job on Brownies for us and assured us not to worry too much. BTW, a round of applause to Choong and Eric of 'Uptown Pets Centre'.

That's not all. Both of Brownies eye was infected. It was pretty serious on the left side where the 'white' spot was covering 50% of it's eye while there was slight spots on the right side. Eric recommended an eye oilment manufactured by Pzifer to be applied on Brownies eye.

I was so proud of my wife for doing an incredible job by saving this lovely dog from the streets, It was not an easy thing to do as we have to be very careful of not spreading the fleas infestation to my other two dogs and also got to take good care of Brownies.

Initially there was jealousy from Thunder. He refuses to eat not mixed with the rest but after a couple of week Thunder managed to understand the meaning of socialise again and the 3 of them lived happily ever after. Brownies right eye have healed but the left one remains the same. We really hope we could get rid of the infection soonest possible so that he will be able to lead a normal life again.

Ain't he a beauty! When asked for his paw this is what 'Thunder' will do. Smart indeed. He can do it with both of his paws. Yeah.

'Hannah' is a little shy and will not show us her paw. She is the more energetic one and will give chase to Thunder anytime of the day. She'll outrun him anytime. Cool.

They may look like angels but deep inside them lies the devil. Just look at the walls and baskets..... yeah they did chewed it all up. Other stuffs are like the gate, shoes, my laundry, whatever they can come across. Dogs will be dogs!!! LOL.

My 2 Dogs - Eerie......

Wanna share with my readers what dog's eye really looks like. This pics were taken during the Chinese Ghosts Month......wooooo............. eerie isn't it.

Look at those eye for a minute without blinking. It's like you are going into the other world....... Wuahahaha.... That's why based on some old saying.... dogs do see things we don't. Now you know why.

No matter how eerie they are they are still my lovely pet dogs. WUAHAHAHA...............!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How to get rid of fleas & ticks?

I have 2 lovely dogs which I adopted this year - a male and a female dog.

Hannah is a female terrier mix who is 9 months old and Thunder is a male labrador mix who is 8 1/2 months old. Both are perfect companion and everyone loves them.

I have come across once where both of them were infested with ticks and fleas. It was a serious case where both of my lovely dogs were infested with the unwanted pests. Tried so many ways and methods but seems that the creatures keep coming back.

Since then I have been bathing my dogs with anti-fleas/ticks shampoo and washing them with mixture of H2O with 'poison'. Leaving them to dry naturally. I've been using Frontline Spot-On Combo for Dogs too. This product is suppose to 'protect' my dogs for 1 month but doesn't seems to be working. The pests will re-appear in less than 4 weeks.

I found that washing the dogs with the H2O - 'poison' mixture works! And it is a cheaper option compared to using Frontline.

I will spray around the vicinity of my house with the mixture just to make sure that the pests do not lie around to kill another day. So far so good. But if I let the dogs wandering in the vicinity of the lawn ........... they will be infected with it without much ease. I don't know why.

I really hope that someone out there who'll come across my blog will be able to provide me with some solutions.
